The thing I don't understand about the "overlapping generation" teaching is why there can't be more than just two "generations". Why not "overlap" indefinitely? Just say that it's all of the anointed that will not pass away before the "Great Tribulation"..

A Watchtower quote about apostates I never knew about
by Saintbertholdt ini knew the watchtower didn't like me, but i didn't know they wanted to physically kill me (if they were allowed)from the 15 november 1952 watchtower magazine under questions from readers:.
in the case of where a father or mother or son or daughter is disfellowshiped, how should such person be treated by members of the family in their family relationship?.
we are not living today among theocratic nations where such members of our fleshly family relationship could be exterminated for apostasy from god and his theocratic organization, as was possible and was ordered in the nation of israel in the wilderness of sinai and in the land of palestine... (and a bit later)..being limited by the laws of the worldly nation in which we live and also by the laws of god through jesus christ, we can take action against apostates only to a certain extent, that is, consistent with both sets of laws.. so let me get this straight: if our secular pesky laws were not an obstacle and jesus was not in the way we'd be hunted and exterminated?.

When I got disfellowshipped for apostasy one of the elders said "If you were in Israel you would be killed". -

Why would Jehovah and Jesus talk to Satan?
by hardtobeme inif satan is the greatest apostate there is, why he was allowed to be in heaven?
job chapters 1 and 2 says that jehovah talked to him.
wasn't jehovah supposed to shun his son and set an example to all parents?.

I'm an atheist intellectually and a cosmic pantheist at heart after the tradition of Carl Sagan. The universe is my goddess.
As Shakespeare said "There are more things in Heaven and Earth, Horatio, than are dreamt of in your philosophy."

The moral abominations and contradictions of the Bible can be found here. All that Perry's sources do is to cherry pick whatever is convenient to them without mention of the inconvenient scriptures. An example of an inconvenient set of scriptures is shown right above in my last post. -

33 “‘When a foreigner resides among you in your land, do not mistreat them. 34 The foreigner residing among you must be treated as your native-born. Love them as yourself, for you were foreigners in Egypt. I am the Lord your God. - Leviticus 19:33-34 New International Version

44 “‘Your male and female slaves are to come from the nations around you; from them you may buy slaves. 45 You may also buy some of the temporary residents living among you and members of their clans born in your country, and they will become your property. 46 You can bequeath them to your children as inherited property and can make them slaves for life, but you must not rule over your fellow Israelites ruthlessly. - Leviticus 25:44-46 NIV

28 If a man happens to meet a virgin who is not pledged to be married and rapes her and they are discovered, 29 he shall pay her father fifty shekels of silver. He must marry the young woman, for he has violated her. He can never divorce her as long as he lives. - Deuteronomy 22:28-29 New International Version
And yes, I know the rationalization that Judeo-Christians use in stating that those laws were ok back then for cultural reasons but that doesn't hold water. Why would God care about what other nations or cultures do and instead tell the Israelites not to do such things? What the Israelites were doing back then would be considered an abomination by most modern day Christians. So are Fundamentalists not aware that they themselves are supporting moral relativism in comparing today with yesteryear?
